Coaching for Christian women and families

Why do we fail?  Why do we take a short cut?  Why do we speed or say a biting word or lack discipline or worship our routines?  Why do we “keep our opinions to ourselves?”  Why do we people please?  Why do we ignore the needs around us?  We do we give into temptation? 

I think it comes down to three things: 

1. Being human

2. Forgetting or not knowing who God is…

3. Outright rebelliousness to God which results in failure to love God and others

We don’t obey him as a fearful subject obeys a wretched king…

For he’s nothing like a wretched king!

We love him, confess him and obey him because he first loved us!

He emptied himself of all wealth, took on flesh, endured the shame of a criminal’s death to pay the ultimately price so that we could be free, sons and daughters of God!

Oh! That we will remember!  Oh that his love will mean more to us than anything! That we might serve him because service to God is the highest form of love we will ever offer.  It means running from temptation that will break down relationships and choosing to speak truth in love. It means honoring God and others in every area of our lives! And it comes with rewards!!! Lots of them!!! 

Mathew 10:32 says it like this:

“Therefore, the one who confesses and acknowledges Me before men [as Lord and Savior, affirming a state of oneness with Me], that one I will also confess and acknowledge before My Father who is in heaven.”

Acknowledging God with our words and living in a state of oneness with him is rewarded by Jesus as he stands before his father and ours and says: “He’s with me!”

Meaning “we’re with him!”

Whatever temptation we face, whatever cost we face, may we abide in the love of Jesus, it will keep us from temptation and we will be acknowledged by him before the father!

Stand strong, my friend!

Stand strong, resting in Jesus’s love for you!

The love of Jesus and belonging to him is why we obey him!

“So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven,”
